Teenagers and Common Drug Use
Did you know that many teens are no longer experimenting with heroin, and are instead using something called Krocodil? Called-so, because it turns flesh scaly, like a crocodile, before the flesh dies and begins to rot…
Did you know that many teens are foregoing their experiments with marijuana, and are instead experimenting with synthetic chemicals that are designed to mimic the effects of marijuana, though can be acquired more easily?
The current trends of teenage drug use is frightening — to say the least. While teenagers in the past decades have experimented with cocaine, heroin, and other drugs — which is scary enough — today’s teens are faced with much tougher decisions than just 5 years. These new synthetic drugs are just the latest part of the iceberg to be seen. Teenagers addicted to prescription drugs has risen exponentially in the past decade, with studies and speculations foreseeing these rates rising even further in the next 10 years.
You can only imagine what today’s teens must face every time they go to school or meet with peers. It is scary for a teen, and even scarier for parents to think about. That is why it is so important for parents to be knowledgeable about these disturbing fads and trends. A knowledgeable, informed, and open parent stands a better chance at protecting his/her children from the dangers of drugs and alcohol than a parent who is hesitant about talking on the subject of drugs.
